Ever since the early sixties Torremolinos and the Costa del Sol have been a mecca for gay and gay friendly people. Its heady mix of sun, sea, vino and laid back attitude make the Costa del Sol a good holiday choice. Torremolinos has long been the gay focal point of this coast - the main gay areas (for bars and clubs) are La Nogalera, Commercial la Nogalera and Pueblo Blanco. Getting to Torremolinos is very easy - flights to Malaga (AGP) no-frills, charter and scheduled are plentiful from almost every airport within the UK. Transfers from Malaga airport to Torremolinos take about twenty minutes by car or train.
The Costa del Sol in a year-round resort but if you want to experience plenty of action the best time to go is May through to late October.
